Key aspects of the Role

  • Setting high standards of personal behaviour and professional conduct by example   and encouragement, therefore raising expectations in staff and students, driving up levels of    achievement and equipping students for lifelong learning.
  • Taking responsibility for the educational organisation/operation of the relevant subject area (including keeping abreast of developments within the appropriate field).
  • Undertaking teaching duties under the guidance of the Deputy Head and or the Assistant Head teachers. (This includes preparation, presentation, and monitoring and feedback.)
  • Keeping relevant and appropriate records of children’s educational programmes and achievement.
  • Assisting in the preparation of all necessary reports and documents concerning the monitoring of children’s progress and the work of the Academy.
  • Maintain an overview of assessment in the subject and ensure that assessments inform teaching.
  • Ensuring that all Standard Procedures and statutory obligations concerning Health and Safety and the interests of the School and of the general public, are satisfied.
  • Assisting in the establishment and maintenance of strong and positive links with parents and with members of the local community.
  • Participating in induction, training, supervision and appraisal processes.
  • Contributing to the creation of an environment conducive to a happy and healthy life for the children placed at the Academy.
  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the post, which the Head, or his duly authorised Deputy, shall direct.

Qualification, Experience & Skills

  • Qualified Teacher status
  • SEN experience

You will be responsible for delivering a wide, engaging curriculum to either KS2 or 3 students. A good knowledge of working with SEND and ASC is beneficial but not essential. The ability to be flexible and think outside the box will be key to ensure engagement and progress for our learners. You will receive excellent In School Training throughout the year.

Salary range*
Grade F (£18,560 – £20,456 per annum, pro rata for term time only.

(Actual Salary – £12,560.00p.a. – £13,840.00p.a.)

We are looking to recruit a vibrant, energetic people to assist with pupils, who have complex educational needs, in all aspects of their learning.

Key aspects of the Role:-

  • To establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations;
  • To encourage pupils to interact positively and work co-operatively;
  • To provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement;
  • To promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward development of self reliance;
  • To challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem
  • To supervise individual pupils and groups of pupils
  • To develop an understanding of and provide for pupils’ specific personal needs to ensure a safe learning environment. (This may need to be under the direction of Health Service professionals)
  • To support the management of pupil behaviour, including promotion of inclusion of pupils with special needs
  • To support the development and maintenance of resources, an effective physical learning environment, and records.
