The Governors of Springfields Academy are a highly qualified and professional team of volunteers with a wide range of relevant skills and life experiences. They play a critical role in improving the outcomes of our pupils, academically, socially and emotionally to maximise their life chances.
Governors have three key roles:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the Academy and its pupils.
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the Academy and making sure the money is well spent.
The Governing Body has overall responsibility for the effective management of the Academy. However, it is the role of the Headteacher to make detailed decisions with regard to the day to day running of the Academy.
Full Governing Body meetings are held four times a year and individual Policy Groups (Finance, Leadership & Management, Teaching & Learning, Behaviour & Safety) meet frequently throughout the year. A file containing minutes of our meetings is held at the Academy and can be viewed in term time by arrangement.
The Chair of Governors can be contacted via the school or through the Clerk to the Governors on firstname.lastname@example.org
